Frontend Engineer – Cluster OS Platform

Clera, an early-stage Kubernetes infrastructure company based in San Francisco, California, is hiring a Frontend Engineer to design and build the user interface for its flagship distributed systems platform. In this full-time role, you'll create the visual layer and interaction patterns that transform complex infrastructure into an intuitive, approachable experience for both individual developers and production engineering teams.

About the Role

You'll own the frontend architecture and user experience for a platform that brings OS-like clarity and control to cluster environments. Working with a well-funded team, you'll define how engineers interact with and visualize their infrastructure, turning complex operational challenges into straightforward workflows.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop the web interface for managing and monitoring Kubernetes clusters and distributed systems
• Build responsive, real-time dashboards and visualizations that surface actionable insights from complex infrastructure data
• Define interaction patterns and information architecture that make distributed systems approachable to operators at all levels
• Partner with backend engineers and product to translate infrastructure capabilities into compelling user experiences
• Iterate on the platform interface based on feedback from both individual tinkerers and large-scale production teams

What We're Looking For

• Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or equivalent, plus TypeScript or JavaScript
• Experience building data-rich, real-time interfaces or monitoring dashboards
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, infrastructure, or distributed systems concepts—or genuine interest in learning
• Design sensibility: you prioritize usability, visual hierarchy, and clear information presentation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, fast-moving engineering team
