New Heights Charter School of Brockton is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher in Brockton, Plymouth County. Help students with learning differences thrive in our unique Early College charter school where younger students earn college credits on campus and our 11th–12th graders study full-time at local colleges.

About the Role

As a Special Education Teacher at New Heights Charter School of Brockton, you'll deliver specialized instruction and academic support to students with diverse learning needs. You'll collaborate with our general education team, counselors, and college partners to ensure students succeed both academically and socially—whether they're earning credits in high school or transitioning to college coursework. Your role will span our 6–12 student body, working within a school culture that values creative problem-solving and genuine student growth.

What You'll Do

  • Design and deliver evidence-based special education instruction aligned with students' IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
  • Assess student progress, document learning outcomes, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive learning and co-teaching opportunities
  • Provide academic and social-emotional support that prepares students for college-level work
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress and involvement in the school community
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state special education law (IDEA, Section 504, Massachusetts regulations)
  • Work alongside college advisors and partners to help students access early college opportunities

What We're Looking For

  • Massachusetts license or eligibility to teach Special Education (all disability categories preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching students with a range of learning differences and abilities
  • Strong knowledge of differentiation strategies, universal design for learning (UDL), and evidence-based interventions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative school culture and adapt to changing student needs
  • Passion for helping students with learning differences access rigorous academics and college pathways
