Founding Product & Solutions Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing an early-stage AI startup in the Technical University of Munich ecosystem. Our client builds enterprise software focused on supply chain, logistics, and industrial workflows. They work closely with customers to identify automation opportunities and turn operational insights into scalable solutions.

We're seeking a Founding Product & Solutions Engineer to join the founding team in Garching. This is a full-time position where you'll work across product development, engineering, and direct customer projects from day one.

Responsibilities

• Participate in customer discovery sessions to understand operational workflows
• Map existing processes and identify automation and improvement opportunities
• Translate customer requirements into actionable product and technical specifications
• Build and test prototypes using APIs, structured data, and AI tools
• Support customer pilot programs and implementation projects
• Gather customer feedback and bring insights into product development discussions
• Identify recurring patterns across customer engagements
• Contribute ideas to product roadmap and company development
• Take ownership from problem definition through implementation

What We're Looking For

Essential qualities:

• Comfortable exploring unfamiliar problems and developing solutions independently
• Ability to take initiative without requiring detailed instructions
• Strong customer orientation and ability to understand their perspective
• Thoughtful questioning skills and willingness to challenge assumptions constructively
• Collaborative approach—sharing ideas early, testing, and iterating with the team
• Quick learner who can absorb new industries and processes rapidly
• End-to-end ownership mentality

Technical background:

• Experience with Python, APIs, SQL, structured data, AI applications, or workflow automation is helpful
• Academic background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management and Technology, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, AI, or related technical disciplines
• Familiarity with enterprise software, ERP systems, supply chain, logistics, or industrial environments is an advantage

Language requirements:

• Strong English skills required
• German skills are an advantage
