Staff Appraiser -Valuations : San Mateo, CA

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential real estate services organization seeking a Staff Appraiser to join their valuations team in the San Mateo, CA market. This is a work-from-home position requiring local market expertise and the ability to conduct field assignments.

In this role, you will:

• Complete desktop and field appraisal reports according to client specifications and quality standards
• Conduct quality control reviews on complex valuation reports
• Provide review appraisals and resolve quality control escalations
• Troubleshoot and independently resolve complex issues with field appraisers and lender clients
• Support special valuation projects as assigned
• Maintain consistent turnaround times while upholding high-quality appraisal standards

What We're Looking For

Our client requires candidates who possess:

• Active Certified Residential or Certified General Appraiser designation in California (required)
• Demonstrated experience appraising a broad range of property types
• Strong expertise in the San Mateo, CA market and surrounding areas
• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and appraisal software
• Strong computer skills for report development and professional communication
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of high-level results
• Commitment to quality appraisal products and professional integrity
• Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship

Location requirement: Candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of San Mateo, CA to provide coverage for this market.

Pay

This position offers a competitive compensation structure including guaranteed base salary plus order-level compensation for completed assignments.
