About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential consumer goods organization seeking a Data Analyst to join their operations in Fellbach. You'll serve as a critical bridge between sales, marketing, and product development, focusing on the analysis of internal sales data alongside external market, competitive, and trade intelligence.

In this role, you'll consolidate data from multiple sources, identify meaningful trends, and translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for product portfolios, assortment strategies, sales modules, and new product launches. Your insights will directly influence data-driven decisions across commercial functions.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Preparation

  • Analyze internal sales, volume, and revenue data
  • Evaluate external market, competitive, and retail panel data (e.g., Nielsen)
  • Consolidate and prepare data from diverse internal and external sources
  • Assess performance of individual products, product groups, customers, sales channels, and sales modules
  • Examine sales trends, growth rates, market shares, and other key metrics
  • Identify anomalies, correlations, and changes within datasets
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc analyses
  • Ensure transparent and consistent data foundations
  • Verify data completeness, plausibility, and quality
  • Continuously improve analytical methods and evaluation structures

Reporting and Visualization

  • Create and enhance regular reports, dashboards, and KPI overviews
  • Transform complex data relationships into understandable presentations and decision documents
  • Present analysis results tailored to sales, marketing, product development, and other departments
  • Report regularly on relevant developments, opportunities, and risks
  • Define and refine appropriate metrics for evaluating products, assortments, and initiatives
  • Automate and standardize recurring evaluations
  • Support departments with data-related questions
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders

Deriving Actionable Recommendations

  • Translate analytical results into concrete, implementable recommendations
  • Identify growth areas, optimization potential, and possible risks
  • Recognize assortment gaps, overlaps, and products requiring optimization
  • Develop recommendations for products, product groups, target audiences, and sales channels
  • Support data-driven decision-making across commercial functions
  • Evaluate the impact of planned measures on sales, revenue, and assortment
  • Track implemented measures and analyze their outcomes

Sales Module Analysis and Optimization

  • Analyze performance of existing sales modules
  • Evaluate module composition using internal sales data and external market information
  • Identify successful product combinations and underperforming components
  • Develop data-based recommendations for optimizing product composition
  • Support development of new market-, customer-, and target-group-appropriate sales modules
  • Recommend assortment breadth, depth, and product weighting
  • Adapt sales modules to different customers, target groups, and sales channels
  • Assess new products for suitability in existing or new modules
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and continuous improvement of sales modules
  • Coordinate closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams

Market, Competitive, and Trend Analysis

  • Continuously analyze relevant market, competitive, and consumer developments
  • Identify emerging product, assortment, and consumption trends
  • Monitor and evaluate new product introductions and competitive changes
  • Analyze market potential and growth areas
  • Compare internal product and assortment performance with external market data
  • Assess market positioning of individual products and product groups
  • Generate insights for product, assortment, and sales module development
  • Detect relevant changes in market and customer behavior early

Analytical Support for Product Launches

  • Analyze market, sales, and competitive data as foundation for planned product launches
  • Evaluate market potential, target audiences, and relevant sales channels
  • Support definition of measurable goals and appropriate success metrics
  • Create analyses and decision documents for involved departments
  • Provide data-based assessment of positioning for new products
  • Support integration of new products into existing or new sales modules
  • Analyze product performance post-launch
  • Compare actual development with previously defined targets
  • Identify deviations and derive suitable optimization measures
  • Produce regular evaluations on newly launched product development

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Completed degree or comparable qualification in Data Analytics, Economics, Business Informatics, Statistics, Business Administration, Controlling, or Marketing
  • Relevant professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, controlling, category management, or comparable analytical role
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities
  • Experience analyzing, preparing, and interpreting large datasets
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and concrete recommendations
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Very good German language skills and good English proficiency

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with market research and retail panel data (e.g., Nielsen)
  • Understanding of sales metrics, products, assortments, and different sales channels
  • Experience creating and developing reports and dashboards
