Founders Associate (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization in their search for a Founders Associate to serve as a strategic right hand to leadership. In this newly created role, you will bridge commercial insight and financial rigor as the company scales.

• Serve as a trusted partner to the founding team: prepare strategic decisions, conduct analyses, and build frameworks for growth
• Own cross-functional commercial projects independently—including international sourcing calculations, new product line launches, and investment assessments
• Establish transparency across key metrics: build and evolve reporting, KPIs, and data infrastructure
• Apply foundational controlling knowledge (margin, contribution margin, forecast, liquidity) in close collaboration with the team
• Support data-driven decisions on assortment and growth levers (fast movers, bundles, inventory optimization)
• Shape processes and structures to support the next phase of expansion

What We're Looking For

• Several years of hands-on e-commerce experience (required)—you understand shop and marketplace business models, assortment strategy, and growth drivers
• Entrepreneurial generalist mindset: you take ownership and drive initiatives to completion independently
• Strong analytical and numerical skills; proficient in Excel/Sheets and at least one BI tool
• Solid understanding of finance and controlling fundamentals (margin, contribution margin, forecasting, cash flow)—you must be comfortable with these concepts but are not expected to build a controlling function from scratch
• Affinity for modern tools and AI-assisted workflows
• Analytical, structured, and pragmatic—able to balance a fast-moving, idea-rich founding team
• Fluent German required; English is a plus
• Based in or willing to work on German time zones; Hamburg location cited but role is fully remote
