Senior Internal Auditor

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join their team in London. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring compliance, assessing risks, and strengthening internal controls across European operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and conducting regulatory, compliance, and operational audits across European markets
• Preparing comprehensive audit reports, presenting findings to management, and recommending actionable improvements
• Contributing to the development and enhancement of the internal audit plan, framework, methodology, and templates
• Coordinating internal audit-related projects in collaboration with relevant teams
• Managing stakeholder relationships and fostering a proactive culture around internal controls and compliance

This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Global Head of Internal Audit. You will work closely with the Board, Audit Committee, key stakeholders, and external auditors in a position where your work genuinely impacts the organization.

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking a candidate with:

• Strong audit experience in financial services, ideally within payments or regulated fintech environments
• Deep knowledge of the European regulatory environment and internal controls frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in large, complex, international organizations where priorities shift
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to act as a credible partner at all levels of the organization
• Natural curiosity for data, with the ability to look beyond the numbers and draw sound conclusions
• Fluency in German (written and spoken) if based in Berlin
