Senior Mobile Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential consumer technology organization in their search for a Senior Mobile Software Engineer based at Battersea Power Station. In this role, you will:

• Build cross-platform mobile features using React Native that ship efficiently across iOS and Android
• Collaborate with embedded systems, cloud, and hardware engineering teams to deliver end-to-end connected product experiences
• Design and architect full-stack systems that enable seamless communication between mobile applications, cloud services, and physical devices
• Develop and automate comprehensive testing frameworks to ensure product reliability at scale
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimizing mobile applications for millions of devices
• Work closely with cross-functional teams spanning the entire technology stack, from firmware to cloud infrastructure

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Strong proficiency in React Native development for both iOS and Android platforms
• Expert-level TypeScript skills
• Hands-on experience with development tools including VSCode, Xcode, Android Studio, Git, Gradle, CocoaPods, and Swift Package Manager
• Proven track record of successful collaboration within cross-functional development teams
• Solid understanding of full-stack architecture and mobile-to-cloud integration patterns
• Genuine passion for building connected products that deliver exceptional user experiences
• Adaptability and eagerness to work in a high-performing engineering environment

Preferred experience:

• Rust for cross-platform modules, React Navigation, React Query, Protobuf APIs, and native build systems
• IoT ecosystems and connected device development
• BLE and WiFi connectivity protocols
• Systems programming in Rust, C/C++, or similar languages
• Background in robotics, consumer electronics, or smart home products
