Senior Trade Marketing Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consumer products organization in their search for a Senior Trade Marketing Manager based in London. This is a social-first, fast-paced environment where you will lead the Pureplay vertical across the UK and Republic of Ireland, owning retail media planning and trade marketing strategy across multiple product categories and online retail channels.

In this role, you will manage a team, drive ambitious growth targets, and serve as the senior marketing relationship lead for key pureplay retail partners. You will bring sharp commercial thinking to everything you do, partnering closely with Sales and the wider marketing community to unlock growth through full-funnel planning, social-first collaborations, and data-driven investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Pureplay vertical against ambitious growth targets, owning retail media and trade marketing strategy across the full marketing funnel
• Serve as the senior, retailer-facing marketing lead, building and deepening relationships with senior marketing contacts at retail partners
• Collaborate with Strategy, Sales and Analytics teams to ensure full-funnel plans deliver commercial volume objectives and align to secured SKUs and volumes
• Own multi-million-pound marketing budgets (contracted co-op and incremental), ensuring effective deployment and weekly reporting of spend and performance
• Champion social-first collaborations with retail partners (influencer, organic social, affiliate) amplified through wider retailer-owned media activations
• Own the digital shelf and content excellence agenda, ensuring flawless go-to-market and new product development support with assets, listings and launch readiness
• Lead the vertical's presence at selected physical retailer events, partnering with field teams and agencies to deliver brand experiences that add commercial value
• Manage, motivate and develop a team of four direct reports plus one dotted-line Manager, owning individual development plans and building team capability
• Act as the bridge between local execution and global strategy, representing the region in cross-market forums
• Align plans with Brand Media and Integrated Marketing Communications teams to maximize efficiency and impact of total marketing investment

What We're Looking For

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to bring a commercial lens to all activities, spot opportunities and gaps, and lead confidently with Sales counterparts and retailers on commercial conversations
• Experience in retail, trade or channel marketing, ideally within pureplay, e-commerce or marketplace environments (consumer electronics, FMCG or durable goods a plus)
• Proven brand-side experience, having worked in-house for a brand or manufacturer; retailer and/or agency background alongside this is welcome
• Strong working understanding of full-funnel retail media planning and the digital shelf to enable leading a team of specialists and defining what good looks like
• Proven people-leadership experience managing, coaching and developing a team with empathy, including building individual development plans
• Strong budget planning skills with experience owning and reporting on significant (multi-million-pound) marketing budgets
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to manage upwards to local, regional and global leadership and outwards to senior retail and agency partners
• Comfortable with fast-paced, test-and-learn ways of working in an agile environment where plans pivot frequently based on commercial, market, consumer and operational data
• Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills at leadership level, with high ownership, entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to maintain a helicopter view in a fast-changing environment
