Director of Strategic Philanthropy

About the Role

In this leadership role you will shape the philanthropic strategy that fuels Hamilton Families’ programs, build relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners, and oversee a team dedicated to securing sustainable revenue streams.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan aligned with the organization’s goals.
• Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Design and manage grant‑writing efforts, ensuring proposals are compelling and submitted on schedule.
• Create and steward corporate partnership programs that generate multi‑year support.
• Monitor donor databases, track performance metrics, and report progress to the executive team and board.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the philanthropy team, fostering a collaborative and results‑driven culture.
• Represent Hamilton Families at community events, conferences, and donor gatherings to raise visibility.
• Ensure compliance with all fundraising regulations and ethical standards.

What We're Looking For

• Proven success in strategic philanthropy, major gifts, or nonprofit fundraising leadership.
• Strong ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies that meet or exceed targets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting persuasive proposals and presentations.
• Demonstrated skill in building and maintaining relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Experience managing teams and mentoring staff in a fast‑paced nonprofit environment.
• Familiarity with donor management software and data‑driven decision making.
• Commitment to Hamilton Families’ mission of ending family homelessness and advancing equity.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
