We are representing a confidential diagnostics organization seeking a Director, Lab Systems Software Development Engineering to lead critical software engineering initiatives supporting laboratory operations. This is a remote, full-time role requiring approximately 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of software development engineering strategies aligned with business, product, and technology objectives
• Drive engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and high-quality software delivery while ensuring regulatory compliance and development standards
• Collaborate with product, architecture, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with enterprise priorities
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, governance practices, and operational frameworks ensuring software scalability, reliability, and performance
• Monitor engineering performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive improvements enhancing delivery efficiency and system quality
• Build, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams while promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration
• Ensure application and system availability metrics meet established service level agreements

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of experience in software development engineering, application development, or related technical disciplines, including clinical laboratory experience
• 3+ years leading teams or enterprise-scale engineering initiatives
• 3+ years designing, developing, or overseeing complex enterprise software systems or platforms
• 3+ years partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical strategies with business objectives
• Strong understanding of clinical laboratory operational workflows and order-to-report/bill processes
• Demonstrated ability to lead software engineering strategy and execution in complex enterprise environments
• Expertise in scalable system design, software development lifecycle management, and engineering governance
• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate priorities, risks, and outcomes to technical and business stakeholders

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration
• 3+ years leading software engineering organizations supporting multiple platforms, products, or enterprise systems
• 3+ years with system architecture, platform engineering, or large-scale distributed environments
• 3+ years establishing engineering governance frameworks, development standards, and delivery operating models

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $175,000 - $225,000 annually. This position is also eligible for annual performance bonuses and may include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages. Final compensation is based on skills, relevant experience, applicable certifications, internal equity, and market data.
