TheHiveCareers is hiring a Developer in Barbados to join our team in crafting robust, scalable software solutions that drive business impact. As a full-time member of our engineering group, you'll contribute to every phase of application development—from initial design through production optimization.

About This Position

This is a full-time Developer role focused on creating and sustaining software applications that meet real-world business needs. You'll work alongside a collaborative engineering team to translate requirements into efficient code, while maintaining high standards for quality, performance, and long-term maintainability. In this position, you'll sharpen your technical skills while gaining exposure to modern industry practices and emerging technologies.

Your Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production software applications across the development lifecycle
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather, clarify, and implement project requirements
• Write code that is clean, efficient, and architected for scale and future growth
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks
• Monitor and enhance application performance under real-world conditions
• Continuously explore new tools, frameworks, and industry best practices to strengthen your craft

What We're Looking For

• Solid foundation in at least one major programming language—Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, or equivalent
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a track record of resolving technical challenges
• Practical experience with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub workflows
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including optimization principles
• Familiarity with Agile development cycles and collaborative sprint-based work
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline
• Optional: relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Developer or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, or advanced studies beyond the bachelor's level
