About the Role
As a Server Specialist in Jamaica, you'll take ownership of a diverse server estate across Windows and Linux environments. Your experience in banking or financial services backgrounds will be essential to this position, as you'll be responsible for managing systems that handle sensitive data and require uncompromising uptime and security standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain Windows and Linux server platforms throughout their lifecycle
- Monitor system performance continuously and diagnose technical issues as they arise
- Deploy security patches and system updates according to established schedules and urgent requirements
- Establish and maintain backup solutions and disaster recovery frameworks to ensure business continuity
- Work alongside IT colleagues on infrastructure expansion, system upgrades, and data migration projects
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of three years' direct experience administering enterprise servers
- Banking or financial services infrastructure background (required for this role)
- Proven expertise with virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Advanced proficiency in scripting languages including PowerShell and Bash
- Familiarity with cloud platform architecture and administration (beneficial)
