Data Visualization Specialist

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential government contracting organization seeking a Data Visualization Specialist to join their remote team. This role focuses heavily on UI design and end user engagement for complex data systems, with opportunities to expand into deeper technical implementation over time.

Candidates must hold an active TS clearance (T5 investigation closed within past 2 years) or CBP clearance. While this position is fully remote, you should reside within reasonable driving distance to Fort Meade, MD for occasional collaboration needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead UI design initiatives for data visualization platforms, prioritizing end user experience and engagement
• Build and optimize dashboards and reports using Qlik and PowerBI
• Clean, manage, and optimize large data volumes for performance in cloud environments
• Identify and resolve data quality issues through strong SQL analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex data requirements into intuitive visual solutions
• Apply industry best practices for software-hardware optimization when processing large datasets
• Support database design and architecture decisions

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Active TS clearance with T5 investigation closed within past 2 years, OR active CBP clearance
• 5+ years of Data Engineering or Data Management experience
• Strong SQL skills with proven ability to identify and troubleshoot data issues
• Hands-on experience with Qlik for data visualization and analysis
• Experience with PowerBI tools
• Heavy experience in UI design and end user engagement for data products
• Demonstrated experience cleaning, managing, and optimizing performance of large data volumes
• Proven experience working within AWS environments (AWS certifications strongly preferred)
• Understanding of database and database design principles
• Familiarity with best practices for software-hardware optimization
• Location within reasonable driving distance to Fort Meade, MD

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, or geospatial analytics
• AWS certifications
• Background with titles focused on "design" or "architect" roles
