Data Platform Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded technology company building autonomous systems for enterprise procurement and supply chain operations. They're scaling rapidly and need a Data Platform Engineer to architect the foundation that powers their AI-driven platform.

This is a hybrid role based in London, offering the chance to work on complex data challenges at scale—ingesting procurement data from ERP systems, contracts, PDFs, emails, and legacy platforms that were never designed to integrate. You'll build the pipelines, schemas, and quality frameworks that enable intelligent systems to operate reliably for Fortune 500 clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate high-volume ingestion pipelines processing global supply chain and procurement data from diverse sources
• Define and evolve data schemas and catalogues across the full lifecycle—from raw staging through to analytics-ready feature stores
• Build comprehensive monitoring and observability for all pipelines, owning data quality, latency, completeness, and lineage at every stage
• Champion secure, governed data practices that meet enterprise compliance requirements
• Collaborate with AI, platform, and product teams to provision datasets, feature tables, and contracts that support analytics and machine learning at scale
• Select and implement the right tools across the data stack for evolving use cases

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience at product-driven technology companies with a strong focus on data quality, DataOps, and data management at scale
• Hands-on experience developing data warehouses or lakehouses
• Proficiency across a variety of tools in the modern data stack, with the ability to evaluate and implement the best fit for each use case
• A mindset that enjoys both designing architecture and writing code to implement solutions end-to-end
• Comfort managing your own CI/CD pipelines and integrations
• Strong communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
