Data Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential health technology organization that is transforming how people access and experience healthcare services across Europe. Our client operates at significant scale, serving over one million members across multiple countries, and continues to expand rapidly into new markets.

As a Data Engineer within their Data Foundations team, you'll build and maintain the data platform that powers critical decisions affecting member care, contracts, and claims processing. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly enable data-driven decision-making across the entire organization.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve the data platform used across the organization by technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Design and operate production data infrastructure including orchestration tools, cloud data warehouses, and infrastructure as code
• Develop systems, tools, and libraries that enable other engineers, scientists, and analysts to work effectively with data
• Implement security and governance frameworks around data assets, especially as AI agents become first-class data warehouse users
• Partner with teams across the organization to understand their data needs and build trusted, usable solutions
• Support international expansion by creating data foundations that accommodate multiple countries' insurance systems and regulatory requirements
• Define and implement standard data practices and improve developer experience for building data pipelines
• Maintain core data infrastructure using tools including Python, Airflow, Snowflake, AWS/GCP, Metabase, Terraform, and dbt

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of demonstrated impact in data engineering or related positions
• Production experience building and operating data infrastructure with orchestration platforms (Airflow or similar) and cloud data warehouses
• Experience designing systems, tools, or libraries used by other engineers, scientists, or analysts
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with high standards for code quality and precision
• Experience with infrastructure as code practices
• Curiosity about AI and eagerness to leverage it thoughtfully to increase impact
• Excellent listening and communication skills, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative, humble approach with a genuine interest in continuous learning
• Fluent English (written and oral); French is not required
• Passion for solving ambitious problems with simple, elegant solutions
