About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential interactive entertainment organization seeking a Counsel, Business Affairs to join their legal team in London. This in-office role supports mobile games operations across EMEA and globally, requiring a commercially minded lawyer who can navigate complex entertainment and technology transactions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, analyze, and negotiate commercial agreements covering entertainment content creation, production, marketing, and distribution
• Advise internal teams on game development, engineering, mobile platforms, app stores, user acquisition, ad tech, monetization, IP licensing, and product distribution
• Handle a wide range of mobile gaming agreements including MSAs, monetization agreements, IOs, DPAs, and contracts with AdTech/MarTech vendors, analytics providers, and software vendors
• Independently manage contract negotiations with pragmatic, multi-jurisdictional awareness while partnering with business clients to achieve commercial goals
• Structure and analyze deals involving rights held by content distributors, hardware manufacturers, sports leagues, record labels, music publishers, talent, technology licensors, software developers, advertising agencies, and data analytics providers
• Provide day-to-day counsel on general business, contract, copyright, technology, corporate, and regulatory matters
• Assess risks associated with complex legal issues in a fast-paced creative environment

What We're Looking For

• Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales (or relevant jurisdiction) in good standing
• 3+ years post-qualification experience in-house or at a law firm
• Strong expertise in contracting issues with excellent drafting skills
• Experience with complex corporate or intellectual property transactions, including content creation, production, clearance, marketing, and distribution
• Background in software and technology licensing and development
• Experience in entertainment or technology matters, or significant corporate experience with desire to transition to this sector
• Ability to evaluate and advise on complex agreements and effectively distill information for clients
• Strong communication skills with ability to convey complex matters clearly
• Enthusiasm for the video game industry
• Eagerness to embrace AI and other new technologies in legal practice
• Common sense, patience, good humor, and commitment to teamwork
• Ability to remain calm and confident despite deadlines and challenging priorities
