Consultant – Senior Consultant, Policy and Market Reform

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential management consulting organisation seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join their policy and market reform practice. You will support a diverse client base—from government agencies and regulators to investors and corporates—across energy, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

In this role, you will:

• Apply economic reasoning and quantitative analysis to assess the impact of policy and regulatory changes on energy markets, investors, consumers, and other market participants.
• Develop robust analytical models and evidence-based insights to inform client decision-making on complex policy and market issues.
• Translate technical analysis into clear, compelling, and commercially relevant recommendations for clients.
• Produce high-quality written outputs, including reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior client stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing, discussions on client propositions, and the development of new service offerings.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and support the delivery of projects from inception through to final recommendations.
• Contribute to internal initiatives that strengthen the team's capabilities, analytical tools, intellectual property, and market profile.
• Stay abreast of emerging policy, regulatory, and market developments, identifying implications for clients and opportunities for new work.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking candidates with 3–7 years of experience in consulting, government, industry, or a similar analytical role, with a focus on energy markets, policy, or economics.

Essential skills and experience:

• Demonstrated experience conducting policy, regulatory, or economic analysis, with the ability to show how your work has influenced business, investment, or policy decisions.
• Experience using quantitative analysis, economic modelling, or data analysis techniques to evaluate market or policy outcomes.
• A track record of producing high-quality written reports, presentations, or consultation responses, translating complex analysis into clear and persuasive recommendations.
• A good understanding of energy markets and structures, underpinning policy and emerging trends.
• Experience working with clients or senior stakeholders to scope problems, communicate findings, and deliver analytical projects to deadlines.

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive with the London consulting market for this seniority level.
