About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital transformation consultancy seeking a Public Sector Consultant to join their Berlin team. Our client specializes in modernizing government services and administrative processes across federal, state, and municipal levels in Germany. This role offers flexibility with remote work options throughout Germany.

As a recruiter working on behalf of this organization, our talent team is looking for a strategic consultant who can drive digitalization initiatives within public administration. You'll work on implementing modern administrative services, streamlining processes for citizens and businesses, and supporting government agencies through their digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities

• Serve as part of the consulting unit, actively shaping IT advisory projects for public sector clients
• Guide government agencies through digitalization initiatives from planning through implementation
• Support the design of strategies, organizational structures, and processes for federal, state, and municipal authorities
• Collaborate with project teams to gather client requirements and develop innovative solution concepts
• Accompany the introduction of new IT solutions from preparation through piloting, testing, and successful go-live
• Facilitate workshops, information sessions, and training for diverse user groups and stakeholders
• Prepare documentation including guidelines, handbooks, and materials for committee participation
• Manage post-launch activities including support, hypercare, user feedback, and transition to stable operations
• Participate in continuous professional development and team knowledge transfer

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in political science, public administration, administrative informatics, law, business informatics, or another relevant field that qualifies you for this role
• Initial practical experience in consulting or IT project management; experience with public administration is particularly valued
• Strong understanding of project planning and governance; familiarity with PMFlex is ideal or willingness to learn quickly
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage different users and stakeholders through organizational change
• Ability to translate complex content into clear, accessible formats for various audiences
• Technical aptitude and interest in system implementation topics including configuration, interfaces, data migration, customizing, and testing processes
• Strategic thinking about post-go-live requirements and long-term operational stability
• Interest in administrative digitalization and how modern IT services are successfully introduced in public organizations
• Knowledge of German e-government frameworks, data protection, or IT service management is a plus, but eagerness to learn these areas is most important
• Strong written and spoken German required for this position
