About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential public sector technology consultancy seeking a Consultant to join their Hamburg-based team. This role offers the opportunity to shape digitalization initiatives for government agencies and public administration at federal, state, and municipal levels. You'll work on transformative projects that modernize how citizens and businesses interact with government services.

This is a 24-month fixed-term position with flexible remote work options throughout Germany.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape consulting projects focused on public sector digitalization initiatives
• Guide government clients through complex digital transformation programs
• Design strategies, organizational structures, and processes for public agencies
• Collaborate with project teams to gather client requirements and develop innovative solution concepts
• Support the full lifecycle of IT solution implementations from preparation through pilot testing to go-live
• Facilitate workshops, information sessions, and training programs for diverse stakeholder groups
• Create documentation including guidelines, handbooks, and materials for committee involvement
• Manage post-implementation activities including support, hypercare, user feedback, and transition to stable operations
• Engage in continuous professional development through training and team knowledge transfer

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in political science, public administration, administrative informatics, law, business informatics, or a related field that qualifies you for this role
• Initial practical experience in consulting or IT project management; public administration experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of project planning and management; familiarity with PMFlex is ideal or willingness to learn quickly
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to guide users and stakeholders through change processes
• Ability to translate complex content into clear, accessible formats for various audiences
• Technical understanding and interest in system implementation topics including configuration, interfaces, data migration, customizing, and testing (functional and technical)
• Forward-thinking approach to post-launch considerations and stable operational structures
• Interest in administrative digitalization and successful deployment of modern IT services in public organizations
• Knowledge of e-government frameworks, data protection, or IT service management is a plus, but willingness to learn is most important
• German language proficiency required for this role
