Child Care Specialist

Utaustin seeks a dedicated Child Care Specialist to join our team in Austin, TX. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while supporting families in our community.

Role Overview

As a Child Care Specialist at Utaustin in Austin, you'll provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate care and supervision for children. Your work will create safe, nurturing environments where children can learn, play, and grow. You'll be responsible for implementing age-appropriate activities, maintaining health and safety standards, and fostering positive relationships with each child in your care.

Core Duties

• Supervise, engage with, and support children during daily activities, meals, and outdoor play
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate learning activities and recreational programs
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe classroom and play environments
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and development
• Monitor and respond to children's physical, emotional, and social needs
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and toileting as appropriate for age groups
• Document observations of child development and behavior
• Follow all licensing regulations, health protocols, and Utaustin policies

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require or prefer certification in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
• Demonstrated experience working with children of various ages
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in challenging situations
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and engage actively with children
• Commitment to child safety, confidentiality, and professional ethics
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
