We're hiring for a full-time Service Desk Tech Analyst I position at UT MAIN CAMPUS to join the Utaustin technical support team. Role Overview

As a Service Desk Tech Analyst I at UT MAIN CAMPUS, you'll be the frontline technical support for our institution, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues with patience and expertise. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to build your IT support career at a major research university while supporting thousands of users across campus.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve user-reported technical issues via phone, email, and ticketing system
  • Provide remote and in-person troubleshooting for computers, printers, networks, and software applications
  • Diagnose hardware problems and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
  • Create detailed incident tickets, document solutions, and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base
  • Follow up with users to ensure issues are fully resolved and satisfaction is met
  • Escalate complex problems to senior technical staff while keeping users informed throughout the process

What You Bring

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for hardware and software environments
  • Knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems
  • Excellent communication abilities—you explain technical concepts in user-friendly language
  • Customer service mindset with patience and professionalism under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple tickets and prioritize effectively
  • Relevant IT certification or equivalent hands-on technical experience is a plus
