The Opportunity

Behavioral health care requires seamless coordination—between patients, providers, insurance, and treatment plans. As a Behavioral Health Care Coordinator at Utaustin, you'll own that critical work. You'll help patients navigate their care journey, ensure nothing falls through the cracks, and support clinicians in delivering excellent care. This is hands-on, mission-driven work where your organizational skills translate directly into better health outcomes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments and manage patient calendars for behavioral health providers
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation in electronic health systems
  • Verify insurance coverage and manage prior authorizations for behavioral health services
  • Greet patients, collect intake information, and orient new patients to services
  • Communicate with patients via phone or email to confirm appointments and provide information
  • Assist clinicians with care coordination by tracking treatment progress and follow-up needs
  • Process paperwork, referrals, and clinical documentation
  • Support patient education on behavioral health services and community resources

What You Bring

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations
  • Experience with medical records, electronic health records (EHR), or healthcare administration
  • Proficiency with computers and office software
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance, privacy (HIPAA), and patient confidentiality

  • Customer service orientation and empathy for patients in behavioral health
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant healthcare or administrative experience preferred
