Chemical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Technician (f/m/d) Analytics & Synthesis

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential deep-tech organization in Leipzig that is developing advanced materials for sustainable manufacturing. Our talent team is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Assistant or Lab Technician who excels at precise analytical work and reliable synthesis support in a fast-paced research environment.

This is a hands-on technical role where you will serve as the analytical backbone of the laboratory, performing instrumental and wet-chemical analyses while supporting production-scale synthesis operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine instrumental and wet-chemical analyses including NMR, IR spectroscopy, DSC, and titrations to characterize advanced materials
• Support bench-scale and pilot-scale polycondensation reactions by executing procedures according to established SOPs
• Prepare and maintain laboratory glassware, conduct sample preparation, and oversee material drying processes
• Ensure measurement accuracy through regular calibration of analytical instruments and detailed documentation in lab journals
• Maintain laboratory operations to high safety and quality standards (GLP)
• Assist in drafting clear standard operating procedures for analytical and synthesis workflows
• Keep analytical equipment maintained and ready for continuous use

What We're Looking For

• Completed vocational training as a Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Chemielaborant, or equivalent technical qualification with hands-on bench experience
• Strong practical experience in instrumental and wet-chemical analytics, particularly NMR, IR spectroscopy, DSC, and titration methods
• Experience conducting organic syntheses safely according to written protocols and SOPs
• Confidence operating analytical instruments, preparing samples, and performing routine calibrations
• Detail-oriented and reliable working style with a collaborative mindset suited to a growing organization
• Working knowledge of English sufficient for technical documentation and team communication; German is beneficial but not required
• Bonus: Experience with specialized polymer testing (MFR/MFI, tensile testing) or previous work in plastics laboratories
• Bonus: Knowledge of polymer chemistry or reactor operations
