Position Summary
As a Business Development Representative, you'll be the front line of PressReader's growth strategy. This full-time position in Richmond, British Columbia focuses on identifying and qualifying prospects, building early-stage relationships, and creating opportunities for the sales team. You'll research potential clients, conduct discovery conversations, and demonstrate how PressReader's solutions address their business needs.
Core Duties
- Identify and research prospective clients within assigned territory or industry segments
- Execute outbound sales activities including cold calling, targeted email campaigns, and professional networking
- Qualify leads by assessing fit, interest, and buying readiness before handoff to account executives
- Conduct discovery calls to understand client objectives, pain points, and potential value fit
- Maintain accurate prospect and activity records in CRM systems with timely pipeline updates
- Collaborate with sales leadership to refine messaging and improve conversion performance
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly activity, contact, and qualification targets
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in sales development, inside sales, or similar client-facing business role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey value propositions clearly
- Comfort with rejection and resilience in prospecting with competitive drive to win
- Hands-on experience with CRM software and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Self-directed, organised approach to lead management and pipeline administration
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven, results-focused environment
- Genuine interest in business-to-business sales and building commercial relationships
