About the Role
As Associate Director of Brand Strategy, you'll be part of our Strategy, Transformation & Growth Team—the engine that powers our firm's competitive positioning and market presence. This role sits at the intersection of brand development and business growth, requiring you to translate market insights into actionable brand initiatives that resonate with clients and prospects across our practice areas.
What You'll Do
- Develop and refine brand positioning strategies that differentiate Cooley in a competitive legal services marketplace
- Collaborate with marketing, client development, and practice leaders to execute brand initiatives that drive client acquisition and retention
- Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and client sentiment to inform brand decisions and identify growth opportunities
- Create data-backed frameworks and strategic roadmaps that enable the marketing team to operate with clarity and measurable outcomes
- Lead cross-functional projects that bring brand strategy to life across communications, digital platforms, and client-facing programs
- Build and mentor team members who support brand strategy execution
- Monitor and measure brand performance, adjusting strategy based on results and changing market conditions
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of brand strategy, marketing strategy, or related experience in professional services, technology, or growth-focused organizations
- Proven ability to develop and implement brand strategies that drive business results
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to guide strategic decisions
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management abilities
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to influence without direct authority
- Strategic thinking paired with strong execution and attention to detail
- Experience in legal services, consulting, or B2B marketing is a plus
