Position Summary
As a ParaProfessional – ESE (Exceptional Student Education), you'll work directly with certified special education teachers to support students with disabilities and diverse learning needs. This full-time position focuses on helping students participate meaningfully in classroom activities, develop academic skills, and build social confidence under the direction of special education specialists. Your role is essential to ensuring students receive the individualized support outlined in their educational plans.
Core Duties
- Work alongside special education teachers to deliver instructional support to students with disabilities
- Assist students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, math practice, and subject-matter comprehension
- Supervise and support students during classroom activities, transitions, and structured learning time
- Help implement behavior management strategies and reinforce positive student conduct
- Prepare instructional materials and organize classroom resources
- Document student progress and communicate observations with teachers and administrators
- Provide personal assistance as needed to help students access educational opportunities
Who We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university, with at least 30 hours in education-related coursework
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow teacher direction
- Patience, compassion, and commitment to supporting diverse learners
- Reliable attendance and professional demeanor
- Ability to work effectively as part of a school team
