About This Position
We're seeking an experienced Customer Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of our customer data infrastructure. You'll work at the intersection of technology, data strategy, and business objectives, ensuring our customer data platforms are secure, performant, and aligned with evolving organisational needs. This is a contract role where your expertise will directly shape how we collect, organise, and leverage customer information to drive strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive customer data architecture that supports analytics, personalisation, and customer intelligence initiatives
- Evaluate, select, and implement customer data platform technologies and tools that meet current and future business requirements
- Establish data governance frameworks, taxonomies, and standards that ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across systems
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering to translate customer data requirements into technical solutions
- Document architecture decisions, system designs, and implementation roadmaps for technical and non-technical audiences
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in customer data operations
- Mentor technical teams on best practices in customer data management and platform usage
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record designing and implementing customer data platforms or similar large-scale data solutions
- Deep knowledge of customer data management, data warehousing, and analytics platforms
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, data privacy standards)
- Experience with modern data technologies, cloud platforms, and integration patterns
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to translate business needs into technical architecture
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance technical excellence with business pragmatism
- Background in technical architecture, solutions engineering, or related fields
