Contract Specialist

About the Role

As Contract Specialist at Northwest Regional Council, you'll manage the lifecycle of contracts and agreements that support our mission of delivering human services across Island, San Juan, Skagit, and Whatcom counties. This role bridges operations and administration, ensuring that every partnership, vendor agreement, and service contract aligns with organizational policy, legal requirements, and our commitment to putting people at the center of everything we do.

What You'll Do

• Review, draft, and manage contracts and service agreements with community partners, vendors, and subcontractors
• Ensure all contracts comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing human services delivery
• Maintain accurate contract documentation, including tracking amendments, renewals, and expiration dates
• Support procurement processes and coordinate with stakeholders across program areas
• Identify and flag potential risks or compliance issues in proposed agreements
• Collaborate with program staff to understand operational needs and translate them into contractual terms
• Maintain organized contract files and filing systems for easy retrieval and audit purposes

What We're Looking For

• Experience in contract management, legal administration, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously
• Knowledge of human services regulations, nonprofit operations, or government contracting is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
