Fogo is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead back-of-house operations at our Minneapolis, MN location. In this full-time position, you'll direct kitchen teams, maintain food safety standards, and drive operational consistency in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

About This Position

This role offers the opportunity to manage a critical function within our operation—the kitchen. You'll work as part of the leadership team, with direct responsibility for shift-level kitchen operations, staff supervision, and maintaining the standards that define our guest experience. You'll need to balance hands-on involvement with strategic oversight, stepping in when needed while developing your team's capabilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead back-of-house staff, ensuring accountability and consistent performance
  • Verify that all food is prepared according to company recipes, standards, and plating specifications
  • Monitor and enforce food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance across the kitchen
  • Manage kitchen inventory, coordinate equipment maintenance, and maintain an organized, clean workspace
  • Train, coach, and develop kitchen team members to build capability and engagement
  • Coordinate with front-of-house management to resolve service issues and optimize workflow
  • Track costs, identify efficiency improvements, and contribute to operational profitability
  • Respond to challenges and problem-solve in real time during service

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in a restaurant kitchen, food service operation, or similar back-of-house environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling, and kitchen operations
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency
  • Flexibility to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for delivering great food and guest experiences
