Lead Medical Lab Scientist

Adventhealth is seeking a Lead Medical Lab Scientist to join our laboratory team at Adventhealth Ocala. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to lead diagnostic and clinical laboratory operations while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and patient care.

What This Role Involves

As a Lead Medical Lab Scientist, you'll oversee laboratory testing procedures, manage team performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You'll play a critical role in delivering accurate diagnostic results that directly support patient outcomes in our facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee clinical laboratory testing and analysis across multiple disciplines
• Lead, train, and supervise laboratory technicians and support staff
• Ensure quality control and adherence to laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Document results accurately and manage laboratory information systems
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to support patient diagnosis and treatment
• Implement best practices and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
• Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification
• Minimum 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a laboratory setting
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
