About the Role
As a Cath Lab RN at AdventHealth Countryside, you'll provide essential nursing support during cardiac catheterization procedures, working alongside interventional cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams. This is specialized nursing care that directly impacts patient outcomes in cardiovascular health.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and maintain sterile field during catheterization procedures, ensuring safety and infection control standards
- Assist physicians and advanced practitioners with patient positioning, equipment setup, and procedure support
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures, maintaining continuous vigilance
- Manage patient comfort and anxiety through professional communication and evidence-based interventions
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of procedures, patient status, and nursing interventions
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal procedural efficiency
- Support post-procedure patient recovery and education about ongoing cardiac health
What We're Looking For
- Current, active Registered Nurse license in Illinois
- BLS/ACLS certification (PALS preferred)
- Experience in critical care, telemetry, or cardiovascular nursing preferred
- Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic principles, and invasive procedures
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based patient care
