Join J.S. Held LLC as a Technical Architect and Advisor (OAQ) for our Technorm division in Montreal, QC, Canada. This is a full-time remote position for a licensed architectural professional to provide expert technical consulting and advisory services in forensic architecture and engineering.

Role Overview

As a Technical Architect and Advisor with J.S. Held LLC, you'll serve as a trusted expert guiding clients through complex architectural and engineering challenges. Working remotely from anywhere in Canada, you'll leverage your professional credentials and deep industry knowledge to deliver strategic technical advice, conduct forensic assessments, and shape solutions that meet the highest professional standards. This role combines hands-on technical investigation with client-facing advisory responsibilities, offering the flexibility of remote work while maintaining the intellectual rigour of regulated architectural practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic architectural and engineering investigations, analyses, and assessments for clients across diverse sectors
• Provide expert technical advice on complex architectural challenges, defects, and performance issues
• Prepare detailed technical reports and findings based on investigations and professional analysis
• Consult with clients, legal teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate findings
• Maintain compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and J.S. Held LLC protocols
• Contribute to the development of solutions and remediation strategies for architectural and engineering problems

What We're Looking For

• Valid OAQ (Ordre des architectes du Québec) designation or equivalent Canadian architectural registration
• Proven experience in forensic architecture, engineering investigation, or technical advisory consulting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical findings to non-technical audiences
• Professional judgment and integrity aligned with regulated architectural practice standards
• Ability to work independently and manage client relationships in a remote setting
