About This Position
Technorm, a J.S. Held LLC subsidiary, seeks a skilled architectural technologist to serve as a codes and standards advisor with specialized expertise in fire safety compliance. You'll apply your technical knowledge to help organizations navigate complex building codes and fire protection requirements. This remote role combines technical depth with client-facing consultation, supporting projects across multiple sectors.
Core Duties
- Review architectural plans and building designs for compliance with applicable codes and fire safety standards
- Provide expert technical advice on fire protection systems, egress requirements, and life safety regulations
- Prepare detailed reports documenting code analysis and recommendations for remediation
- Consult directly with clients, architects, engineers, and building officials to resolve standards-related questions
- Stay current with evolving building codes and fire safety legislation affecting properties in Québec and Canada
Requirements
- Technologue diploma or equivalent qualification in architecture or building technology
- Demonstrated expertise in Canadian building codes (National Building Code) and fire protection standards
- Strong technical communication skills in both English and French
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting client deadlines
- Professional knowledge of fire safety principles and building regulatory frameworks
