AI Safety Specialist – Fully Remote | Upto $25/hr

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking an AI Safety Specialist for fully remote contract work. Our client is at the forefront of conversational AI development and requires skilled professionals to strengthen their safety testing capabilities.

This is a remote contract position open to candidates based in Australia. You will work directly with advanced AI systems to identify vulnerabilities and ensure responsible deployment.

Responsibilities

• Red team conversational AI models and agents to identify jailbreaks, prompt injections, and misuse cases
• Generate high-quality human data by annotating failures, classifying vulnerabilities, and flagging systemic risks
• Apply structured methodologies following taxonomies, benchmarks, and playbooks to ensure consistent testing
• Document findings reproducibly to produce reports, datasets, and attack cases that stakeholders can act on
• Review AI outputs on sensitive topics such as bias and misinformation, with optional participation in higher-sensitivity projects

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

• Fluent language skills in both English and Malay
• Prior red teaming experience in AI adversarial work, cybersecurity, or socio-technical probing
• Ability to explain risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred:

• Experience in adversarial ML: jailbreak datasets, prompt injection, RLHF/DPO attacks, or model extraction
• Background in cybersecurity: penetration testing, exploit development, or reverse engineering
• Expertise in socio-technical risk: harassment/disinformation probing, abuse analysis, or conversational AI testing
• Creative probing skills: psychology, acting, or writing for unconventional adversarial thinking
