Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Backend + Frontend)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded SaaS company in the data infrastructure space. Our client serves Fortune 500 organizations and maintains a widely-adopted open-source project. They're hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to build platform features that span their Java backend and TypeScript/Angular frontend.

This is a product engineering role—not ticket execution. You'll own features end-to-end, work directly with users and product teams, and ship from database schema to user interface without hand-offs. AI coding agents are embedded in the daily workflow here, and you'll be expected to use them effectively while maintaining high code quality.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across the full stack: backend APIs, database changes, and frontend UI
• Design and implement backend services for a multi-tenant SaaS platform using Java
• Work with relational databases (MySQL): schema design, query optimization, and production migrations
• Develop clean, performant frontend features in TypeScript/Angular
• Write tests at every layer: unit, integration, and end-to-end (Cypress/Playwright)
• Build AI-powered workflows into the product: LLM-driven features that solve user problems
• Improve systems for agentic development: agent instructions, skills, and feedback loops across the codebase
• Collaborate directly with product, design, and customers to shape what gets built
• Optimize performance and maintain quality across the entire stack

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years building software at a product company with ownership of production systems
• Strong Java experience: REST APIs, database interactions, async processing
• TypeScript and a modern frontend framework (Angular preferred)
• Frontend fundamentals: complex UIs, component architecture, state management, performance, responsive design
• Solid SQL skills in a backend context: schema design, query optimization, production migrations
• Testing discipline: you write unit, integration, and e2e tests as part of your workflow
• Architectural judgment: you design APIs from the consumer perspective and understand data flow implications
• DevOps fluency: containers, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, comfortable on Linux
• Agentic engineering: you ship production code with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) and know how to direct them effectively
• Independence: you thrive in distributed, async teams without constant direction
• Fluent English

• An eye for design and UI detail
• Python experience
• Experience building LLM-powered features or agentic workflows into production products
• Background in data quality, data management, observability, or ML monitoring

Pay

The client offers €85,000–120,000 per year plus equity. This is a fully remote position for EU-based candidates, with an optional office available in Belgium. The client provides access to all frontier AI models and emphasizes real ownership and autonomy.
