This locum tenens position provides anesthesia coverage for obstetric, surgical, and outpatient cases at a healthcare facility in the Sun Lakes region, offering a flexible schedule that supports both patient care and professional autonomy.
What You'll Do
- Administer anesthesia for obstetric, general, and outpatient procedures as required.
- Provide care in the operating room and labor/delivery suites, monitoring patient safety throughout each encounter.
- Conduct preoperative assessments and develop postoperative pain management plans.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia team members to create and execute individualized anesthetic plans.
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to facility protocols for medication handling and emergency response.
- Adjust to varying shift patterns, including days, nights, and weekends, to fulfill coverage needs.
- Participate in team briefings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Active Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist license in the State of Arizona.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or equivalent).
- Proven experience delivering anesthesia for obstetric and operating room cases.
- Ability to work a minimum of three shifts per week, with each shift lasting either 10 or 12 hours.
- Availability to commit to at least three weeks of work each month.
- Willingness to cover obstetric and OR schedules, with occasional outpatient general and OB cases.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a locum tenens environment.
