(804) Unity Support Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology client seeking a Unity Support Engineer for a part-time engagement. This role focuses on maintaining compatibility between Unity SDK implementations and backend infrastructure.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing Unity SDK release notes monthly to identify breaking changes that may impact backend integration
• Assessing the impact of SDK releases on existing API contracts
• Performing reactive compatibility patching on the Unity client when SDK updates introduce incompatibilities or integration failures
• Participating in incident diagnostics for issues including frozen screens, stale content, missing updates, and configuration delivery problems
• Clarifying root causes and proposing targeted fixes
• Collaborating with backend teams and stakeholders to document known issues and workarounds in runbooks

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience with Unity SDK, including release cycles, versioning strategies, Unity Package Manager, and dependency management best practices
• Strong ability to read, analyze, and modify C# code within existing Unity projects—focus is on diagnosis, debugging, and targeted patching rather than building full applications
• Solid understanding of how Unity standalone applications consume REST APIs, including HTTP client usage, JSON serialization/deserialization, and error handling strategies
• Experience configuring and building Unity standalone targets for Windows and/or Linux
• Ability to reproduce and diagnose runtime issues locally using logs, breakpoints, and diagnostic tools
• Practical knowledge of Unity plugins and Package Manager for updating dependencies safely and resolving version conflicts
• English proficiency at B2+ level for reading technical documentation and communicating clearly with stakeholders

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience using Unity for digital signage, kiosk systems, or interactive displays (non-gaming contexts)
• Basic understanding of Django REST API from the client perspective
• Familiarity with GCP Cloud Run at a conceptual level
• Experience working with remote diagnostics tools, collecting logs, and reproducing issues on remote machines

This is a part-time contract position with an anticipated workload of up to 10 hours per month. The engagement is expected to run 6–12 months starting in August. Fully paid onboarding of approximately 20 hours will occur between August and October 2026. The working window is Monday–Friday, 15:00–00:00 Warsaw time. You are not expected to be online continuously during this window, but should be able to handle tasks within 4 hours to 1 business day. Location: Poland or westward time zones.
