Signal Technician

Wabtec is seeking a Signal Technician for our Beenleigh, Queensland facility. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on critical railway signalling systems that keep Australia's rail networks safe and efficient.

About This Position

As a Signal Technician at Wabtec in Beenleigh, you'll play an essential role in maintaining, testing, and supporting railway signal infrastructure. This is hands-on technical work that directly impacts the safety and reliability of rail operations across Australia's transport network. You'll contribute to keeping trains and passengers safe whilst supporting the operational continuity of the rail sector.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain, test, and troubleshoot railway signalling systems and associated electrical equipment
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on signal installations
• Install, repair, and modify signal apparatus and control systems
• Conduct testing procedures to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
• Document maintenance activities, faults, and repairs accurately
• Respond to signal system failures and support emergency restoration efforts
• Collaborate with rail operators, engineers, and other technical teams
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience working with railway signalling systems or related electrical/electronic systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with signal equipment
• Knowledge of railway safety standards and signalling practices
• Competency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and documentation
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on technical ability
• Reliable, safety-conscious approach to work in a critical infrastructure environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
