Graduate Electronic Systems Engineer (2026 start)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential engineering consultancy seeking a Graduate Electronic Systems Engineer for a 2026 start. In this role, you will work as part of multi-disciplinary technical teams on client assignments across various markets including consumer devices, industrial systems, aerospace, telecoms, and defence.

With extensive support and mentoring from experienced engineers, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing electronic systems for diverse applications and products
• Developing analogue and digital hardware, PCB layouts, and FPGA designs using Verilog/VHDL
• Conducting hands-on testing and debugging in laboratory environments
• Gaining experience in embedded software development (C/C++) and system-level design
• Interacting directly with clients throughout all project phases, from requirements capture through to final handover
• Collaborating with software, RF, signal processing, mechanical, and AI engineers on cross-functional teams

You may work on one or more projects simultaneously, engaging with different disciplines and taking on varied technical roles as you develop your expertise.

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks electronics graduates who are eager to tackle challenging engineering problems and work with diverse technologies. The ideal candidate will bring:

• An excellent degree or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of fundamental electronic theory and principles
• Practical experience (through university, work, or personal projects) in one or more areas: analogue electronics (interfaces, RF, power), digital electronics (processors, DSP, Verilog/VHDL), or PCB design
• Genuine enthusiasm for designing systems and making them work
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technical challenges
• A rigorous approach to solving real-world engineering problems

Security Clearance: This position requires eligibility to obtain UK Security Check level security clearance. You must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake UK National Security Vetting.
