QA Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization that is building AI-powered infrastructure for clinical operations. Our client is addressing critical workflow challenges in specialty healthcare settings, and they need an experienced QA professional to establish and lead their quality function in the UK.

This is a remote position based in the United Kingdom, reporting alongside a US-based QA Lead. You'll have genuine ownership over building out quality assurance strategy, processes, and standards from the ground up. This isn't a role where you'll be inheriting established frameworks—you'll be creating them.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the UK quality assurance function, including strategy, processes, tooling, and standards in collaboration with the US QA Lead
• Design and implement testing approaches for AI-driven features, including agentic workflows, LLM-based outputs, and non-deterministic system behaviors
• Develop automated testing suites using Playwright and TypeScript while remaining hands-on with manual testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing
• Establish quality standards and culture across the organization as the company scales
• Partner closely with Engineering and Product teams to embed quality practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Create evaluation frameworks for AI systems where traditional pass/fail criteria don't apply
• Lead by example, remaining deeply involved in the technical work rather than delegating execution

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience building or significantly shaping a QA function, not just operating within established processes
• Genuine fluency with AI technologies and either direct experience testing AI-powered products or deep understanding of why AI systems require different testing approaches
• Strong technical skills across both automation (Playwright, TypeScript) and manual testing, with no hesitation to do hands-on work at any level
• Solid foundations in test strategy, defect management, and release processes
• Track record of leading through doing rather than pure delegation
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and create structure where none exists
• Understanding that quality is built into products, not inspected in at the end
• Located in the United Kingdom and eligible to work remotely
