AI Strategy Analyst

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading quantitative investment firm in their search for an AI Strategy Analyst to join their Macro & Fixed Income operations team in London. This is a unique opportunity to drive AI adoption and implementation across investment workflows at a sophisticated multi-strategy organization.

This role sits at the intersection of investment processes, data strategy, and applied AI. You'll work directly with portfolio managers and analysts to build, deploy, and scale AI-powered tools that create measurable impact on their day-to-day workflows. This is not a traditional quant or engineering role—you'll be hands-on with implementation while also shaping strategic priorities for AI across the platform.

Responsibilities

AI Implementation & Hands-On Delivery

• Own end-to-end implementation of AI tools and workflows for portfolio managers and analysts, from scoping use cases through production deployment and adoption tracking
• Build, test, and refine custom prompts, skill libraries, and automated workflows tailored to macro and fixed income investment processes
• Develop and maintain custom data sources including vectorized document stores, research embeddings, and email ingestion pipelines
• Work with proprietary data, market data feeds, and internal analytics to create AI-accessible datasets
• Prototype and iterate on use cases: AI-driven research briefs, trade write-ups, behavioral bias detection, position analytics, and idea generation tools

Training & Adoption

• Design and deliver training programs for portfolio managers and analysts, from prompt engineering fundamentals to advanced AI coding sessions
• Create playbooks, best-practice guides, and reusable templates that lower barriers to AI adoption
• Run regular "AI Lab" sessions, demo new capabilities, and build institutional knowledge across the platform
• Track adoption metrics including usage rates, time saved, and model adoption; report ROI to senior management
• Identify and address friction points to drive consistent adoption

Data Strategy & Dataset Management

• Map and catalog the firm's data landscape and make it AI-accessible
• Drive ingestion and embedding of key data sources: broker research, central bank transcripts, internal research notes, and communications
• Ensure data quality, naming conventions, and governance standards for all AI-accessible datasets
• Work with technology teams to build and maintain data pipelines

Platform Liaison & Priority Advocacy

• Act as primary interface between the business unit and central AI/technology teams
• Participate in cross-strategy AI working groups and share best practices
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Stay current on the rapidly evolving AI landscape and assess relevance for investment workflows

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure all AI-derived analytics have appropriate audit trails for compliance purposes
• Work with compliance teams to establish guardrails for AI usage in trading contexts
• Maintain documentation of all active AI tools, datasets, and workflows

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years post-university experience; PhD or Master's in a quantitative/technical discipline strongly preferred (Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Computational Finance, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar)
• Genuine, demonstrable passion for AI—personal projects, open-source contributions, research papers, or equivalent evidence of self-directed learning
• Hands-on proficiency with Python; experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace), LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), and data manipulation libraries (pandas, numpy)
• Familiarity with NLP concepts: embeddings, vector databases, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, fine-tuning
• Comfort working with large datasets and building data pipelines (SQL, cloud storage, APIs)
• Excellent communication skills—ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into concrete technical solutions
• Self-starter mentality: comfortable with ambiguity, able to prioritize independently, and driven to ship tangible outcomes
• Collaborative and low-ego; able to work across seniority levels from junior analysts to senior leadership

Preferred:

• Interest in or exposure to financial markets, particularly macro and fixed income (not required; domain knowledge will be provided to the right technical candidate)

Success in the First 12 Months:

• Measurable increase in AI adoption rates across the investment platform
• At least 3-5 fully deployed, production-quality AI workflows generating demonstrable time savings or insight generation
• Complete catalog of datasets with clear AI-accessibility status and roadmap
• Regular training cadence established with positive feedback
• Clear prioritization framework agreed with central AI team
• Quantified ROI metrics linking AI usage to operational efficiency and investment edge
