Senior Product Manager (Get A Job.ai Context)

About the Role

We are representing a confidential developer tools organization seeking a Senior Product Manager to own a strategic AI-powered context retrieval platform. This product serves as the knowledge layer between codebases and coding agents, replacing exploratory searching with structured, intelligent context delivery.

This is a hands-on, technically deep role where you'll define product vision, set priorities, and work directly with engineering and ML teams to balance retrieval quality, cost, latency, and freshness. You'll manage the product from the terminal and agent sessions, not just slides, and you'll bridge technical teams with cross-functional stakeholders including marketing, developer advocacy, sales, and customer success.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain deep working knowledge of chunking, embeddings, index freshness, retrieval, reranking, and agent-facing surfaces
• Define and defend an opinionated vision for product evolution, including target audiences, use cases, and success metrics
• Translate product strategy into actionable problem statements, priorities, plans, and milestones with explicit definitions of "done"
• Communicate product direction clearly to engineering, leadership, cross-functional teams, customers, and prospects
• Analyze competing context and code-search products through direct use to establish differentiators and identify gaps
• Define core operational and product metrics—index freshness, retrieval quality, agent task outcomes, adoption, retention, and unit economics
• Represent the product externally through roadmap sharing, published updates, speaking engagements, and community feedback gathering
• Partner with ML teams on model evaluation and platform teams on service scale, reliability, and cost optimization

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Proven experience owning a complex developer, platform, or infrastructure product end to end, including strategy and roadmap
• Hands-on familiarity with modern AI coding tools and agent workflows
• Technical capability to work directly with engineering on retrieval behavior, APIs, data models, and integration surfaces
• Ability to define metrics for quality-sensitive products and build evaluation habits that maintain product standards
• Experience communicating a product externally through written content, talks, or community engagement
• A well-argued point of view on where AI-first development is heading and what agents need from a context layer
• Comfort with technical depth across embeddings, retrieval quality, sub-agents, tool-calling, indexing costs, and API design
• Habit of using the product you build daily alongside competitors' tools
• Communication skills that adapt to different audiences, from staff engineers and enterprise architects to conference attendees
• Data-informed approach combining telemetry, evaluation results, customer conversations, and market signals
• Comfort with ambiguity and preference for defining new categories over copying existing ones

Nice to Have:

• Practical experience with search, retrieval, RAG, developer search, or static analysis at scale
