We are representing a confidential mobile health technology organization in their search for a Data Analytics Team Lead based in Berlin. This is a unique hybrid role where you'll spend roughly half your time leading a team of analysts and half your time doing hands-on analytics work for the monetization function. Our client operates a subscription-based mobile product used by millions of people across 150+ countries, generating billions of data points monthly and running hundreds of experiments each year. You'll be instrumental in building a data quality culture while ensuring product and engineering teams take ownership of the data they produce.

This position is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the UK.

Responsibilities

In your first year with our client, you will:

• Lead a small team of analysts embedded within product squads, helping them measure impact and guide product decisions
• Serve as the dedicated analyst for the Monetization team, handling tracking implementation, conversion funnel experiments, and squad reporting
• Set the technical standard for how analytics work gets done across the organization—your problem-solving approach will shape how your team operates
• Establish and enforce data quality standards across the entire pipeline: ingestion testing, transformation validation, reporting layer checks, and anomaly detection
• Drive cultural change by shifting data quality responsibility upstream to the teams producing the data
• Own the complete data journey from raw event capture to curated, self-service datasets in the BI environment
• Partner with product managers and engineering leaders on data-driven strategy and decision-making processes

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Proven experience as an analyst embedded within a mobile product squad, including event tracking, funnel analysis, user journey mapping, and working around release cycles and app version fragmentation
• Management experience leading analysts while maintaining hands-on individual contributor responsibilities
• Deep expertise in experimentation methodology—you've designed and executed numerous A/B tests and can discuss bandits, quasi-experimental designs, and the trade-offs between Bayesian and frequentist approaches
• Track record building data quality systems, including the ability to hold back questionable numbers and fix root causes
• Advanced SQL skills used daily, Python proficiency, and experience with dbt for data transformation
• A consultative mindset—when presenting analysis, you provide clear recommendations, and when errors occur, you own them and improve the process

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with subscription business models and mobile gateway SDKs (App Store, Google Play)
• Strong statistics or quantitative background
• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow
• Experience with data cataloging solutions such as DataHub

Technology environment:

Our client's production stack includes Snowflake for warehousing, dbt and Dagster for transformation and orchestration, GrowthBook for experimentation, Omni for self-service analytics, and Prefect for ML workflows. If you've worked with a cloud data warehouse, dbt, and an experimentation platform, the core patterns will be familiar. The organization also integrates AI tools like Claude into workflows for code assistance, data summarization, and documentation—you'll be expected to use these tools critically and effectively.
