Software Engineer (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded industrial technology startup in Munich that is transforming how manufacturing organizations handle complex, siloed data across legacy systems and modern infrastructure. Our client is building a comprehensive platform that enables intelligent automation and decision-making at scale on the factory floor.

As a Software Engineer, you'll be core to building their platform from data ingestion and ontology modeling through to the applications that manufacturers rely on daily. This is full-stack work spanning backend services, frontend interfaces, performance optimization, and tooling—you'll contribute where your strengths have the most impact. You'll own features end-to-end and work directly with founders and customers in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain platform components across the stack, from data pipelines to user-facing applications
• Own features from initial design through production deployment and monitoring
• Write maintainable, tested, and performant code that supports enterprise-scale systems
• Collaborate on technical RFCs and participate in design reviews
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements and iterate rapidly
• Contribute to architecture decisions in a high-trust, high-ownership culture

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in at least one of: React, Python, TypeScript, or Rust
• Track record of writing maintainable, tested, and performant code
• Experience owning problems from design to production
• Comfort with the pace and ambiguity of early-stage startups
• Strong collaboration skills and experience with technical design documents or RFCs

Nice to have:

• PostgreSQL, DuckDB, or lakehouse format experience
• Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or AWS infrastructure experience
• Machine learning and LLM systems knowledge
• CI/CD pipeline expertise, particularly GitHub Actions
• Experience monitoring distributed enterprise systems
• Familiarity with open standards such as RDF, OWL, or SHACL
