AI Agent Engineer (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a well-funded manufacturing technology startup in Munich. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, ambitious engineering team building agentic AI infrastructure that operates at the intersection of industrial systems and modern AI capabilities. You'll work directly with founders and customers to design and ship production agent systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI agent infrastructure including tools, skills, subagents, and orchestration layers
• Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementations for agent connectivity
• Implement agent workflows, memory systems, and context management at scale
• Build secure sandboxed execution environments for agent operations
• Establish observability, evaluation, and safety frameworks for production agent systems
• Own agentic systems end-to-end from architecture through deployment
• Collaborate closely with founders and engage directly with customers on technical requirements

What We're Looking For

• Experience building AI agents or demonstrated eagerness to learn agent engineering
• Hands-on work with agent workflows, tools, skills, and subagent architectures
• Interest in Model Context Protocol, context management, and memory systems at scale
• Ability to design and implement secure, sandboxed execution environments
• Strong focus on evaluation, observability, safety, and reliability in AI systems
• Proficiency writing maintainable Python or TypeScript
• Bonus: MCP servers and clients, tool design, multi-agent orchestration, containerization, code execution sandboxing, agent evaluation and tracing tools, retrieval systems, prompt engineering, LLM APIs and proxies
