Operations & Strategy Working Student – Compliance

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization based in Berlin that is building critical infrastructure for private markets. Our client is experiencing significant growth and seeks an Operations & Strategy Working Student focused on compliance to join their operational team.

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of compliance and strategy. You'll work directly with their Fund Compliance Manager on regulatory reporting cycles across a growing portfolio of fund clients. As you develop your skills, you'll have genuine opportunities to improve processes, tooling, and automation that shapes how the entire team operates. This isn't administrative busywork—your ideas about doing things better will be actively welcomed and implemented.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly German compliance reporting, including Bundesbank reports, AIFMD filings, and FATCA/CRS cycles across multiple fund clients
• Collect, review, and verify data and documentation from various stakeholders, identifying inconsistencies, missing information, or potential compliance risks before they escalate
• Take ownership of data accuracy workstreams that keep the compliance process running smoothly
• Improve tracking tools, document processes, and contribute to automation initiatives as you become comfortable with core workflows
• Maintain structured workflows while actively questioning and suggesting improvements to existing processes

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a related field such as business, law, or finance
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with a structured working style
• Previous experience in banking, legal, or regulatory-related roles is a strong advantage, though genuine interest in financial services or fund operations is equally valued
• Proactive mindset with strong risk awareness—you notice when something's slightly off and know when to escalate
• Comfortable owning recurring responsibilities while maintaining curiosity about the reasoning behind processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German
• Proficiency with Excel; familiarity with tools like Notion, Asana, or Google Sheets is beneficial
