Kitchen Porter – Soho Farmhouse – Main Barn

Responsibilities

We are representing a prestigious hospitality venue in the Chipping Norton area, seeking a Kitchen Porter to join their Main Barn kitchen team. In this vital role, you will ensure the smooth operation of a busy, high-volume kitchen by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Washing, rinsing, and sanitising all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware to meet operational demands
• Operating commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces, storage areas, and back-of-house zones
• Managing waste disposal appropriately, keeping bins emptied and areas clean throughout your shift
• Adhering to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies in line with UK regulations, including HACCP protocols
• Following detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures
• Supporting the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting during peak service periods
• Handling kitchen equipment carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity
• Replenishing supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials where required
• Safely handling and storing cleaning chemicals and equipment

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a reliable, detail-oriented individual with a professional attitude and a commitment to first-class service standards. The ideal candidate will have:

• Up to 2 years' experience in a busy, high-profile hospitality venue (preferred but not essential)
• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and commercial kitchen equipment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Reliability, discretion, and a professional demeanour
• Flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to handle feedback constructively and maintain high standards
• Capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions
• A team-oriented mindset and willingness to support colleagues during service
