Marketplace Optimisation Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential marketplace platform in their search for a Marketplace Optimisation Lead based in Moorgate, London. This is a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between advanced analytics and strategic decision-making, ensuring data-driven systems operate with precision and integrity.

In this role, you'll serve as the critical quality layer above AI and automation tooling—validating outputs, defining metrics, and translating complex analysis into commercial action. You'll work closely with senior leadership to drive forward intelligent, evidence-based decision-making across the business.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will focus on:

• Owning metric definitions and governance to ensure data integrity across the organisation
• Acting as the quality gate for AI-generated analysis—validating logic, catching errors, and ensuring accuracy before stakeholder delivery
• Designing, executing, and interpreting A/B tests with proper statistical rigour
• Diagnosing root causes of commercial performance shifts—revenue movements, funnel drop-offs, segment underperformance
• Translating analytical findings into actionable recommendations with clear commercial impact and trade-offs
• Building self-serve dashboards and interactive tools that empower stakeholders to access insights independently
• Collaborating with data science teams on model development while owning the strategic direction of analytical work

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings:

• Proven experience across analysis, diagnosis, and driving measurable business outcomes
• Strong technical foundation in SQL and Python to validate and sense-check AI-generated outputs
• Demonstrated ability designing experiments and translating statistical findings into commercial recommendations
• Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences in ways that drive decisions
• Experience in marketplace, subscription, or lead-generation businesses is advantageous
• Familiarity with tools such as Tableau or Looker is beneficial but not essential
• Intellectual curiosity and comfort working at the intersection of data science and business strategy
