Process Integration Engineer (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential semiconductor technology organization in Aachen, Germany. They are seeking an experienced Process Integration Engineer to join their manufacturing operations team. This is a hybrid onsite role working at a state-of-the-art 300 mm fabrication facility, where you will contribute to the development and scaling of advanced integrated photonic manufacturing processes.

As a recruiting partner, we are looking for candidates who bring deep semiconductor fab experience and can drive process integration from development through volume production. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to establish robust, scalable manufacturing flows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify process flows and integration schemes for integrated photonic devices to meet product specifications
• Conceive, plan, execute, and interpret process integration studies supporting technology maturation and transition to mass production
• Lead small-to-medium integration and optimization projects while contributing to larger development programs
• Design data collection strategies that enable quantitative, evidence-based decision-making
• Analyze complex datasets and extract actionable insights to improve process quality, manufacturability, and yield
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations across optical design, system design, characterization, and process engineering teams
• Collaborate with process engineering teams to define and refine specifications for 300 mm manufacturing operations
• Implement evidence-based improvements following established change-management protocols
• Navigate ambiguity and manage interconnected dependencies in a fast-paced technology development environment

What We're Looking For

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Materials Science, or related technical field
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Process Integration within a semiconductor fab environment (300 mm experience preferred)
• Background in process engineering, yield improvement, new product introduction, or similar roles will be considered
• Demonstrated track record of independently leading complex projects in technology development, process optimization, yield improvement, defect reduction, or reliability enhancement
• Strong expertise in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Design of Experiments (DoE)
• Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as JMP
• Excellent English communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
• Strong project management capabilities and experience coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders
• Prior experience with photonics process technologies and Back-End-of-Line (BEOL) processing is a strong plus
